ISSO Office Closed December 23 2011 to January 2 2012 

Advisors are in office through Thursday December 22 conducting normal walk-in advising. The University will close December 22 for the winter break.

TRAVEL SIGNATURE on SEVIS I-20 Record Required Upon Entry

A travel signature on page 3 of the SEVIS I-20 is needed from an international student advisor when you enter the United States not upon departure. Besides the I-20 with travel signature no older than one year, students must be maintaining F-1 status, have passport with at least 6 months validity and valid F-1 visa stamp to enter the United States.

If you have an emergency on the University during winter break, please contact the Public Safety Office 2568246911. In an off-campus emergency call 911. 


* When the University is closed from December 23 to January 3 advisors will check visahelp@uah.edu and respond to emergencies only. (employment authorization, non-eligibility letters, transfer out to another school and authorized reduced course load forms do not qualify as emergencies

As International student advisors will be extremely busy the first week after winter break and will give priority to new students and their orientation activities, non-urgent requests will be responded to as time allows, likely after Orientation. 

Please note that the ISSO will not have walk-in advising hours January 4 & 5 2012 as we will be welcoming new students to campus.
