Appointments for the week of June 27 to July 1

June 27 to July 1 Mona will be out of the office.  Ms. Reva will be available during 1:30-4:00pm walk-in advising hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (June 28-30).  Any students who need to see an advisor outside of the Tuesday-Thursday afternoon advising hours MUST email baileyr@email.uah.edu  and CC visahelp@uah.edu. Ms. Bailey will confirm via email any appointments scheduled directly with you.  As we are notifying students in advance we ask students to understand that last minute assistance cannot be accommodated. 

Afternoon walk-in advising hours on Tuesday June 28, Wednesday June 29, and Thursday June 30 will be from 1:30 to 4:00pm.  All other times will be by appointment only during June 27 to July 1.

Campus Closed Monday July 4 2011

The University will be closed on Monday July 4 2011 for the Independence Holiday.  Advisors will try to include information on community events in next week’s announcements.

ISSO Walk-In Advising Hours

The University is open all summer, with the exception of two holidays, Monday May 30^th (Memorial Day) and Monday July 4^th (Independence Day).  Due to decreased staff in the International Student and Scholar Office we are temporarily changing our Walk-In advising hours for the summer.  Students who plan on coming to the office to meet with an Advisor do not need an appointment during walk-in times.

Effective Friday May 20^th, the ISSO does not have walk-in advising hours on Mondays or Fridays. Revised walk-in advising hours will remain in effect until Monday August 14^th and are:

Tuesdays

10am to 12pm (NOON) and 1:30 to 4:00pm

Wednesdays

1:30 to 4:00pm

Thursdays

10am to 12pm (NOON) and 1:30 to 4:00pm

The office will not be open for students to meet with an advisor during non walk-in hours unless an appointment is confirmed with an international student advisor.   The protocol for dropping off requests and picking up documentation outside of walk-ins will be to take your student ID to Charger Central (UC 118).  Should you have questions about your forms or requests please come during walk-in advising hours to be sure you will be able to meet with an advisor.  

We do not anticipate a change in processing times and appreciate your understanding in making the office more efficient for the population we serve over the summer semester.

F-1 Off Campus Employment Workshops 

If you have not attended an off campus employment workshop and are considering working off-campus in an internship or Co-op position or are completing degree requirements in August, sign up today. 2 workshops dates have been scheduled for the summer 2011 semester to accommodate student schedules and one remains.  Students MUST attend a workshop before an advisor can meet to discuss individual questions.

All workshops are limited to 10 students each and will be held in Conference Room 116 in MADISON HALL.
