The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund was established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada. This could help women students fund their graduate studies if they will have AT LEAST a year remaining as of the scholarship start date in Fall 2009. See the website and scroll down to the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund:

The deadline for submitting the eligibility form (attached) is close: December 15th, 2008. If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, you can send your completed eligibility form via email to IPS@PEODSM.org or fax it to 515-255-3820. Materials can be addressed to: Carolyn Larson, Supervisor, International Peace Scholarship, P.E.O. Sisterhood 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA, 50312.

Once the committee reviews your form and determines that you are eligible, they will send you the formal application by mail.

There is a requirement that you return to your home country within 60 days of graduation, but if you are planning to do OPT, the 60 day return home policy would go into effect AFTER your OPT.
