TAX INFORMATION

Once again the International Student and Scholar Office and the College of Business Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society will collaborate to offer FREE tax assistance to UAH students.  If you were physically present in the U.S. any day in the year 2010, you will need to complete some tax paperwork for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The deadline for submitting tax forms to the IRS for the 2010 tax year is April 18, 2011, so you can see there is still plenty of time. The deadline for employers, banks, and other agencies who report data to the IRS to provide individuals annual tax statements (W-2, 1042-S, 1099-MISC, 1009-GOV, etc… ) is January 31, 2011. UAHuntsville employees can download their W-2 from their BANNER account under the EMPLOYEE tab.
In the next few weeks, the ISSO will share more detailed instructions about the specific forms and how to schedule an appointment for FREE tax assistance.  Until more detailed information is sent out please gather tax forms from all 2010 employers, financial institutions (such as banks) and scholarship or aid agencies.  All questions will be answered via organized workshops or through our general tax email account that will be monitored starting in February (more details soon).

Thank you,
