Off campus employment- FALL WORKSHOPS

F-1 students must have permission from immigration to work off campus. Off campus employment includes internships, Cooperative Education or other paid training that is not on the UAHuntsville campus. We offer employment workshops to help ensure you understand your options available. Students MUST attend a workshop before an advisor can meet with you to discuss your individual questions.  Email visahelp@uah.edu to reserve a space in a workshop (space is limited to 10 students).  

ALL workshops will be held in the UC room 132 (small room on the back hallway of the UC BEHIND the lobby). 

September 10 from 1:00-2:30pm

September 22 from 9:00-10:30am

September 27 from 3:00-4:30pm

October 15 from 2:00-3:30pm

October 27 from 11:00am-12:30pm

November 12 from 1:30-3:00pm

December 6 from 1:00-2:30pm

Career Apprentice Week

Would you like to learn valuable tools that can help you be the best candidate for the job?  The Career Development Office has 2 weeks of ‘Career Apprentice Week’ open to all students; see Career Development office online for flyer with dates and session details.  Sessions start THIS week.

DEGREE APPLICATION DEADLINES:  The application deadline for a Bachelor’s degree (Spring 2011) is October 1. The application deadline for an advanced degree (Spring 2011) is February 1. A $50 non-refundable application fee must accompany each application. LATE FEES WILL APPLY TO APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER THE DEADLINE!

WITHDRAW WITH REFUND:  The last day to withdraw with a refund for the fall semester is August 27.*

PASS/FAIL:  The deadline for applying for Pass/Fail is August 27.

CREDIT TO AUDIT:  The last day to change from credit to audit is September 13.

WITHDRAW:  The last day to withdraw is October 27.

 (Please note that all F-1 students need to maintain full course load)

Reduced Course Load

If you need to enroll in less than 12 hours (undergraduate) or 9 hours (graduate) please refer to the Reduced Course Load form (RCL) to see if you are eligible for less than full-time enrollment. If your situation meets the options on the RCL form then have your academic advisor sign off and drop it off to UC 116 to have it authorized by ISSO.  Sections 1, 2, and all signatures should be completed before giving it to ISSO for review.  http://www.uah.edu/ISSO/pdf/student/forms/RCL_request_form.pdf

Labor Day Holiday

The University will be closed Monday September 6, 2010 for Labor Day.  There will be no classes and the International Student and Scholar Office will be closed. 

Enrollment Verification

See Charger Central (UC 118) for enrollment verification (used for Drivers License, Inviting a visitor, and UC Fitness Center)

Walk-in advising hours reminder: No appointment needed to meet with an advisor during these times. Outside of these times, you must have an appointment to meet with an advisor.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm (Noon)

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:30-4:00pm
