GRAD FINALE:
Fall Grad Finale is a special event where Fall 2009 graduates can make all necessary arrangements for graduation at one time and in one place. The International Student Advisors will be available to answer questions regarding inviting a visitor to attend graduation, OPT issues, and other related matters.

Dates: Tuesday, September 29; 4:00-7:00pm

Wednesday, September 30; 11:00am-2:00pm
Location: University Center Exhibit Hall

OPT PRIORITY DATE:
If you will be graduating FALL 2009 and would like to work after graduation, you must apply for Optional Practical Training work authorization. Each semester, our office sets a “priority date” to encourage students to start preparing their OPT applications and turning them into our office early. If you know for sure that you will graduate in Fall, it is in your best interest to turn in your complete OPT application early. Immigration takes 30-90 days to process OPT work authorization cards. The earlier you turn in the application, the better chance you will have of obtaining the card by the time you graduate. If you have been to an OPT workshop this fall, then you already know that the priority date for this semester is September 18th, 2009. As a reminder, this is not a firm deadline, it is simply the first day we can mail OPT applications to immigration.
