ARE YOU TRAVELING OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY SOON?
F1 students who will travel outside of the U.S. after spring semester must get a signature from an international student advisor on pg. 3 of the I-20 before leaving the U.S.
Once again, we are planning a special travel event to make getting a travel signature efficient for us all.
Come to University Center Room 200 Wednesday, April 22rd anytime between 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. We will be answering questions regarding travel/visa issues throughout the event. As usual we will have refreshments.
We will not be signing I-20’s prior to April 22rd due to time constraints. We appreciate your understanding. See you April 22nd.
Walk-in hours will be canceled Wednesday April 22nd due to this event.
LAST TWO WEEKENDS FOR TAX ASSISTANCE:
This tax season the UAH Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program has been offering free tax assistance for international students who earned wages in 2008. If you earned wages in 2008 but have not made an appointment, there will be two more dates that the volunteers can assist you. There are still spaces available on April 4th and April 11th.
SCHEDULING A TAX WORKSHOP APPOINTMENT:
In order to schedule your tax appointment you will need to email tax@uah.edu your full name and student A number and the workshop date you wish to attend. You also must attach a copy of your complete 8843 form so that it can be reviewed by a tax volunteer. ALL workshops will be held from 10:00am – 1:00pm in the Business Administration Building, Room 120
Tax filing is due to the IRS on April 15th, 2009
